How to Do a Basic Smoky Eye Makeup
Smoky eye makeup is getting extremely popular among girls because of its ability to transform them drastically from a girl next door into a diva. So, if you want to put your best foot forward in a basic Hollywood style smoky eye makeup, you must know the right technique and colors for its application or else you can end up looking ghoulish.
Before starting the makeup it’s important to cleanse the eyelid with a paper towel to remove any dirt or oil remains on it. Then, apply a concealer and powder all over the eyelids till the brow bone.
The usage of a primer is optional, but if you have very oily eyes, you must go for it. It is necessary to keep the eyelids oil-free to prevent the Eyeshadow from slowly melting into the eye crease. Also take care that all these applications are even and smooth.
Begin with the application of a medium grey eyeshadow starting from the lash line to the brow-line with the help of an eyeshadow brush. Now, apply the darkest shade of grey from the middle of the eyelids till the crease and blend it perfectly with the lighter shade.
Follow it by lining the eye crease with black or brown or grey eyeliner of your choice. Do not worry about applying the liner in a proper line because you have to smudge it with a brush to get the perfect smoking hot look.
Then, apply a white shimmery eyeshadow on your brow-bone and tear-duct as a highlighter to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Finally, end your makeup by curling your lashes with an eyelash curler followed by mascara.
To apply the makeup properly it is important to keep certain tips in mind. It is very important to blend the colours flawlessly into each other and avoid any harsh lines. Always do the makeup with gentle hands.
Do not apply too much colour at once because it’s easy to add more colour than remove it. When going for a smoky eye makeup, prefer to keep the rest of the face simple with nude lips and little makeup so that you can draw the complete attention on the eyes and not look overboard.
